We just wanted to clear up any confusion. The Empty Bottle site, most show listings and the Flavor Pill article all say we’re headlining. We like playing in the lead off spot. Plus, if you’ve had a long day at work - you can head right over to the Bottle after you’ve started your first weekday bender and continue it with us. The show is FREE thanks to the Empty Bottle and our good friends at WLUWs Radio One Chicago. Also, we’re booking many more shows. We’ve got some in central IL (we’re hitting U of I & ISU) on February 15th & 16th. Then another Chicago show in March and more to come after that. Hope to see you at the Empty Bottle show!

With almost every band in Chicago mining the ’60s, ’70s, and ’80s for material, it’s actually kind of refreshing to hear one that unabashedly noodles around in the ’90s post-rock vein. Echoing the insistent, mathy jangle of Polvo, the driving riffage of Drive Like Jehu, and the sparse, brow-furrowing atmospherics of Unwound, Mt. St. Helens — whose inception a decade ago might have something to do with their less-than-contemporary sound — rock like its 1996.
